Lifestyle Designer & Makeup Artist

I guess I should be embarrassed about how I looked 15 years ago. But I'm not. It shows how much a person can do to change their lives when they put their energy into improving themselves. I didn't have anyone to guide me through, I had to rely on myself.

I was married at 21 and had my first daughter. A year into the marriage, my husband and I separated. During this period I totally let myself go. I didn't want to get out of bed, let alone get dressed up and show my face in public. My self esteem was pretty much destroyed.

I went back to work six months after my second daughter as born and I was starting to feel a little better about myself. It was really hard trying to balance children, work and a marriage where both of us never seemed to be on the same page. 4 years later the marriage ended.

By this time I was feeling a lot better and having a new found freedom, helped immensely. Shortly after the divorce, I remarried and became pregnant with my third child. During this time I read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and was very inspired. My mother in law was very enterprise minded as well and we got together and started up La Femme. We started out with Charli doing Business Management and myself creating web pages for companies. It was a start, but still my soul wanted more.

In high school, I loved dressing up and looking great. I adored makeup (even though I probably looked scary some days) and feeling confident, something I had lost during my first marriage.

My mom came across an article one day about a local Image Consultant and told me that she thought I should add that to my business. I was telling my hairdresser about it and turns out he knew the woman, Darlene Mathis, and put me in touch with her. I took a one day seminar from Darlene and I was hooked.

Back then there wasn't a lot of information about Image Consulting and training was very expensive and none of it was local, so I just began reading every book I could get my hands on about dressing and makeup and people! 3 years after my second marriage began it ended. By this time I was full steam ahead on my quest to improve mine and my children's lives.

I became certified by the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), in 2006. I found a great makeup artist, the Emmy Winning Suzanne Patterson, and have taken numerous makeup courses
. I also Freelance for MAC Cosmetics and Christian Dior Cosmetics.

In Later 2006 I completed Level I Image Training by the best of the best, Carla Mathis and will be taking Level III in the summer.

During a lunch meeting with an ad exec from 97.1, he dubbed me the female version of Will Smith's Hitch. I have a passion for helping others and assisting them in reaching their goals and full potential. I believe that when you feel good, you look good!
